LG's new flagship smartphone, the G2, is now available at all major US wireless carriers, including Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint, as well as BestBuy. The G2 offers consumers some of the most advanced mobile features on the market today, and its built-in SlimPort interface makes life-on-the-go even better on a bigger screen.
Connecting easily with projectors - both HDMI and older VGA models - as well as with TVs and computer monitors, the SlimPort solution from Analogix Semiconductor enables G2 users to plug in their handsets and give presentations or share movies on any size screen, either on the road, in the office or at home. G2s and other SlimPort-enabled devices can even function as mobile gaming system controllers.
"LG's next-generation G2 smartphone was designed for how people truly want to use their devices," said Dr Ramchan Woo, LG's smartphone platform division leader. "That's why we chose to design in SlimPort connectivity, which will allow G2 users to display their movies, pictures and other content on a wide range of big-screen displays."
"We're pleased that LG has selected our SlimPort solution for its latest flagship smartphone, as well as for the G2's predecessor, the Optimus G Pro," said Andre Bouwer, vice-president of marketing for Analogix. "SlimPort-enabled products are continuing to gain market traction as manufacturers and consumers alike recognise the advantages of a single high-performance interface that connects to multiple types of displays."
