Fujitsu Siemens Computers has announced that its entry-level professional notebook, the LIFEBOOK C series is now available with features that were previously only available on high-end models.
The new LIFEBOOK C1110 now features Intel Centrino mobile technology, which optimises the power supply and extends battery life. With its modular bay concept, the LIFEBOOK C 1110 offers users wide flexibility with the options of being able to insert an additional battery, a DVD/CD-R/RW combo drive or a second hard disk. The result for professional users is an entry-level notebook capable of offering standard performance features that used to be available exclusively on high-end notebook models. The new LIFEBOOK C series models will be available from Fujitsu Siemens Computers distribution partners later this month.
Nowadays, the ability to access information anywhere and anytime is a crucial business success factor for many employees in modern companies. Key technological requirements for working effectively and for several hours at a time without being dependent on a stationary power supply include the use of a WLAN and long battery lifetimes. The recently announced new features of the entry-level models mean that all LIFEBOOK models now meet the stringent demands of today`s professional notebook users.
"The phenomenon of features of high-end systems finding their way into entry-level models as standard features is one that is repeating itself in many areas of hi-tech industry," comments Peter Esser, Executive Vice President Volume Products and Supply Operations at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "Nevertheless, the speed at which we were able to implement the Intel Centrino mobile technology in the LIFEBOOK C series was certainly unusual. What we are hoping for from this technological quantum leap in professional entry-level notebooks is an increase in demand, especially from small and medium-sized companies."
The Intel Centrino mobile technology with integrated wireless LAN chipset gives the LIFEBOOK C1110 a platform specially developed by Intel for straightforward mobile use. Hotspots offer wireless LAN services at various public meeting places such as caf'es, airports and congress centres, either free of charge or for a usage fee.
