With the move towards true mobile workforces recently bolstered by the local availability of Blackberry, the device that has taken the US and European markets by storm, Novell South Africa has upped the ante by announcing that Blackberry`s Enterprise Server for Novell GroupWise will soon be available in the South African market.
"Novell`s award-winning GroupWise collaboration suite is well known as a reliable, industry-leading solution that clients regard as mission-critical to their business` ability to function. Combined with the functionality natively offered by Blackberry, namely access to e-mail, calendaring, corporate contacts, phone functionality, corporate data, SMS functionality, corporate contacts and Internet applications, there is yet another compelling reason for customers to standardise on Novell`s GroupWise solution," says Allison Singh, systems engineer at Novell South Africa.
As with any form of corporate tool that has the ability to access and store corporate information, however, security is of paramount importance. "Since Blackberry`s Enterprise Server for GroupWise resides behind a firewall and is tightly integrated with the security policies and procedures implemented in GroupWise, customers can rest assured that their information is kept safe from harm, while available to mobile workers.
"We believe the local availability of the Blackberry and Enterprise Server for GroupWise allows customers to extend the value they derive from their GroupWise implementation and look forward to positive feedback from the market on gained efficiencies, rises in productivity and ultimately an increase in profits," Singh concludes.
