Paul van der Merwe, consulting and training manager at Real IRM, will present a talk on business processes and enterprise architecture at the 21st Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference, in San Diego, from 2 to 4 February.
Organised under the auspices of The Open Group, which Real IRM represents in South Africa, the conference is believed to be one of the most important events of its kind on the annual enterprise architects' calendar, according to Real IRM.
The conference, The Open Group notes, brings together the industry's leading practitioners, clients and vendors, and serves as a rallying point for the industry.
Says Van der Merwe: "Business process modelling is an accepted best practice and used for business analysis, business process management and service-oriented architecture in organisations. Applying architecture principles can optimise these three disciplines into a single integrated solution.
"My presentation will address this challenge, with reference to case studies in South African companies in the financial services, public and mining sectors, as well as references to Togaf 9, the coming release of the industry's standard framework for delivering enterprise architecture."
