Local experts to present at Business Continuity Awareness Week

Johannesburg, 16 Mar 2010

Reflecting its status in Africa and the respect its employees have earned around the world, ContinuitySA has announced that four of its business continuity specialists will be presenting during the 2010 Business Continuity Awareness Week (BCAW) from 23-26 March.

BCAW is a global online educational event facilitated by the Business Continuity Institute, an international membership body for business continuity management (BCM) practitioners, boasting 4 800 members in over 85 countries.

These events have been organised internationally since 2005 to raise awareness of BCM and to enhance the ability of businesses in all industries to practise effective BCM.

The theme for 2010 is "Why business continuity?"

“BCAW is a great way to educate people at all levels of business on the importance of business continuity planning,” says Ansophie Strydom, GM of business development at ContinuitySA. “Emergencies always crop up when least expected and by learning how to react and how to work together efficiently, companies can learn to overcome adversity and get back to work faster with the minimum of downtime and loss.”

Webcast can be viewed by visiting www.businesscontinuityawarenessweek.org/Webcasts-article all at 12.00 SA time on the following days:

Tuesday 23 March: Millington Gumbo, Senior Consultant, ContinuitySA, will be speaking on “Assessing your operational resilience”.
