Locals welcome Zycko entry

Johannesburg, 05 Dec 2003

Zycko International says there has been a positive response to its acquisition of local distributor Glue Networks, which has been renamed Zycko SA.

Speaking at the launch of Zycko SA at Lilliesleaf in Rivonia this week, Zycko International marketing director Mark Crocker said the 35 resellers represented at the event showed the interest in the market for Zycko`s products.

"We`ve had an overwhelming response from resellers who say the products and services Zycko supplies are exactly what they have been crying out for."

Crocker says Zycko helps resellers to make deals because it offers third-party and storage accessories components for 3Com, Cisco, Nortel, Extreme, HP and Sun, as well as GBICs router cables and router memory at substantially cheaper prices.

"We use the same vendors as the other companies and all our products carry a limited lifetime warranty as well as same-day or next-day delivery. But because our products don`t carry the logo, they are substantially cheaper. This can really help resellers to cut down on costs and secure deals," he says.

Crocker says Zycko resellers will also have the support of its Reseller Programme, which provides a proven way for them to determine the value of unwanted stock.

"Through the Reseller Asset Recovery Programme, resellers can provide customers with the most appropriate way to raise cash for their unwanted networking equipment. Resellers will also be able to take advantage of a free equipment appraisal service and will have access to Agilent Technologies, a brand Glue Networks did not have access to."

Zycko was formed in 2000 and is headquartered in Cirencester, UK. The company has gross annual revenues in excess of $67 million. It employs over 150 people and has offices in the UK, US, Canada, Germany and Norway.
