LogicSMS a fresh look at premium SMS

Johannesburg, 12 Mar 2013

LogicSMS, a wireless application service provider (WASP) in South Africa, provides the cheapest and quickest way of reaching the market with a premium-rated solution.

Many consumers are frustrated at the slow speed it takes to launch a premium SMS service. LogicSMS has sped this up and offers keyword-based short codes within minutes after paying a small annual fee.

"We understand the frustration our clients have in waiting for a short codes on the networks, and have also realised that many premium SMS-based applications never reach the market because of the high price associated with such projects," explained Yitzi Lipschitz, Managing Director of LogicSMS.

"We provide very high payouts and only charge an annual fee of R240, excluding Vat. Our aim is to ensure that price-sensitive applications do in fact reach the market," added Lipschitz.

Another exciting feature of LogicSMS is the fact that it offers a unique cash flow solution to its customers, while many of the company's competitors require that customers pay for the return SMS (and switching fee) upfront. They then only pay out the customers' revenue share three to four months later. LogicSMS does not charge for the return SMS; instead, it is deducted off the future payout.

To illustrate this, a customer offering a competition-based service, which receives 20 000 messages per month, would normally have to pay for 20 000 return SMS messages per month for three months. This requires an outlay of R15 000 to R20 000, before receiving a cent from the WASP. LogicSMS mitigates this risk by not charging the customer directly for the return SMS. Rather, LogicSMS recovers its cost from its share of the payout.
