Logitech has launched a new three-model line-up of cordless desktops, featuring a sleek cordless keyboard with enhanced multimedia controls and advanced Internet navigation tools, coupled with a matching cordless mouse.
With an ability to encrypt users` data, they are designed to provide a far greater assurance of a secure connection to the receiver.
The products feature an elegant low-profile design (Zero Degree Tilt) and fashionable colours.
In addition, says Garreth Hayes, Logitech marketing executive, they make it easy for the user to get the most out of the computer`s potential as a `digital hub` - the central point through which much of the entertainment and communication activities of today`s digital lifestyle are accessed.
"This is the first time that using so many features of the digital hub has been made so easy," he says. "For example, the new cordless desktops reclaim the F-keys, using the included software to re-allocate them to common tasks or activity centres.
"The `F1` button is now a quick means to `create a new e-mail,` for instance, while `F11` instantly opens `My Music.` Additional hot keys, grouped into logical zones above the typing area, launch features such as Webcam software and SMS Web sites.
"This makes it easy for the computer user to communicate with mobile phone users, either via SMS, or through next-generation MMS `photo messaging` from a Webcam to a mobile phone," notes Hayes.
"Each cordless keyboard also has a multimedia control area, for those accessing digital music and DVDs on their computer. Icons on all the hot keys, multimedia buttons and F keys, make it immediately clear what they do."
