Loophold partners with Mirage

Loophold Security Distribution has signed a distribution agreement with Mirage Networks to make their range of Network Access Control (NAC) and behavioural analysis products accessible to the local market.

Loophold says Mirage's Endpoint Control solutions are delivered on network-based appliances that are platform independent. Appliances are deployed out-of-band, eliminating the need for customers to re-architect their networks or integrate with switches or routers, the company says.

Martin Tassev, MD of Loophold, says Mirage's solutions deliver an agent-less approach to interior network security.

How it works

Peter Ruijters, VP EMEA for Mirage Networks, says Mirage's solutions use behavioural rules to detect when devices are spreading threats or violating policies, even if the threat is new, patches are unavailable or are not yet installed. It then isolates the device in question, avoiding cross-infection while enabling remediation. Once the threat is removed, the device is again given access to network resources. In this manner, damage from threats introduced into the network by mobile computing, remote connections, and zero-day malware is stopped. The technology complements perimeter security solutions and gives companies a more complete, in-depth security defence infrastructure.

Mirage's technology covers all operating systems and IP devices, from desktop workstations to IP phones and PDAs.

Loophold says it catches zero-day threats out of the box and without signatures and ensures policy enforcement and threat termination from the moment any device enters the network.
