Lotus announces migration jump-start packages

Providing customers with comprehensive, flexible solutions to move their current electronic messaging platforms to Lotus Notes and Domino Release 5, Lotus Development SA has revealed details of its Super.move mail packages.

"Organisations that consider a mail migration face a multitude of decisions involving product, migration tools, training, timing, configuration and installation," says Steve Dunbar, marketing manager of Lotus Development SA.

"Lotus recognises that migration needs vary according to customer profiles, regional preferences, and, as such, has extended its portfolio to include new Super.move mail migration offerings that ease the upgrade path for existing cc:Mail customers, as well as customers using other LAN-based systems. Super.move brings together all the pieces: software, , consulting and support."

The Super.move acceleration packs are available in 3 flavours:

.         Messaging Acceleration Pack 1 - a base package for companies with a single mail system and fewer than a 1000 users who are just starting their migration. This package is composed of a Domino Mail Server licence, 25 Notes for Messaging licences, Notes/Domino user documentation and Redbooks, a multimedia demo, and training and technical support. This base package, along with additional on-site services is delivered by Lotus` business .

.         Messaging Acceleration Pack II - Designed for companies with two mail systems, moderate infrastructure complexity and 500 to 3000 users who are interested in establishing a pilot as a first step in the migration process. This package adds additional Notes/Domino education to the Pack 1 components.

.         Messaging Acceleration Pack III - Targets companies with two mail systems, moderate infrastructure complexity and 500 to 3000 users who want to deploy quickly. The pack incorporates all the components of packs I and II and adds migration support as well as on-site services for installation and site readiness. This pack is delivered through Lotus Professional Service. The pack provides software distribution tools from Lotus Business Partner Internoded that greatly simplify and reduce the time needed to roll out Notes.

To meet the demands for larger, more complex organisations that require directory synchronisation, co-existence planning, configuration and topology issues, customised migration offerings from Lotus Professional Services are also available. For more information on Super.move surf to www.lotus.com
