L&T Infotech's Learning & Education (L&E) Group achieved yet another milestone in its journey to leverage technology for global learning requirements. It launched a three-month intensive programme called 'Enabling the Champions - Camp South Africa' to develop young South African minds. The programme is aimed at techno-behavioural capability building and enhancing employability of youth in South Africa.
This is the first time L&T Infotech has deployed a blended programme using 'virtual learning' and 'self-learning' models along with conventional classroom training and assessment. L&T Infotech has been conducting training programmes in South Africa primarily using conventional models.
The three-month training programme is specifically designed and developed based on ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) standards, and client-specific technologies. It is to meet local customer needs and ensure ready deployment in the banking sector within South Africa.
Mr Kiran Pai, Global Head of Operations - Banking and Financial Services (BFS), L&T Infotech, said: "This is the first step towards 'Anytime Learning' and 'Learning-on-Demand' to provide complete flexibility and agility for accelerated learning and meeting growing business needs. We are committed to develop competencies among young South Africans, in the field of banking and finance domain using testing technologies."
A batch of 26 fresh graduates from South Africa's universities and institutes were inducted for this programme after a rigorous recruitment process by L&T Infotech for its global workforce requirements.
L&T Infotech's L&E Group plans to carry out similar programmes across the globe with a focus on delivering outcome-based learning solutions, enhancing training and learning effectiveness, and build simulations and hands-on sessions for confidence building.
L&T Infotech recently inaugurated a dedicated Virtual Learning Lab at Mahape, Navi Mumbai, for its employees. The lab can accommodate 300-plus employees.
