access can provide staff, according to a report by Juniper Research, v3.co.uk states.

However, Juniper said that despite this demand, the total subscriber base for LTE services would only represent 6% of mobile broadband users by 2016, as technologies such as HSPA remain standard.

The report says the rate of LTE commitments is at an all-time high; network vendors have significantly improved their position to offer products and solutions to network operators. Consequently, the total number of LTE base station deployments will reach almost one million by 2014, Silicon India writes.

LTE smartphones and tablets will dominate the LTE connected end-user device market, accounting for 50% of the total LTE subscribers by 2016.

With high-end users migrating to a faster technology, the LTE smartphones are expected to achieve early market traction in the enterprise market. The consumer users are expected to exceed enterprise users in volume from 2013.

According to Market Watch, report author Nitin Bhas said: "With LTE being offered as a premium level service initially, enterprise subscribers will be attracted by the improved data speeds and the service guarantees that will be offered. The emerging factor that will drive consumer take-up later in the forecast and beyond is the embedding of LTE technology in consumer devices."
