Mthombo IT Services (M-IT), the sole on-site nationwide HP warranty service provider, has introduced yet another new service offering on printer maintenance called "Printer advance".
Wits University is one of the first customers to benefit from such a service. M-IT has signed a three-year contract with Wits University to provide a total printer solution for its computer network services department.
Printer advance takes away Wits University`s hassles, as it only has to add paper to the printers. M-IT takes full responsibility of support and consumables for the university`s printers for the contract period. The university does not own the printers but "owns" the use of them. It is not plagued with the maintenance and support of this equipment but it pays based on per page billing. This means the university only pays for what it uses.
Printer Advance is a must for companies that seek peace of mind with benefits such as off-balance sheet financing, proactive rather than reactive account management, annual fixed-pricing, useful for budgeting and an accredited partner for printing solutions.
M-IT is confident that these types of total printer outsource contracts will become the standard for most companies with a large printer environment. Specifically when the outsourcing is given to accredited service providers with the necessary skills and resources.
