Xerox has selected Macro 4`s Intelligent Office Printing (IOP) solution to deliver dramatic cost savings as part of a managed print services outsourcing deal across nine sites of Barclays Bank plc, the financial services group. The software solution is part of a $40 million contract, in alliance with EDS.
Macro 4`s IOP solution is a component of a seamless office print strategy integrated with the new Barclays desktop roll-out program delivered by EDS, and the managed print service provided by Xerox Global Services. The solution is initially being rolled out to Barclays` largest campus sites across the UK, and will be used by over 22 000 staff.
IOP enables Xerox to deliver significant costs savings to Barclays by ensuring documents are always printed on the most cost-effective device. This facilitates more cost-effective utilisation of assets and enables Xerox to rationalise printers across the Barclays infrastructure.
The solution also delivers improvements in staff productivity. Roaming workers will be able to print quickly and easily to the nearest appropriate device from any desk, through Macro 4`s universal print driver and IOP interface. Full and accurate business unit accountability is provided through comprehensive accounting capabilities within the solution.
