Maid in SA opts for Simply Accounting Pro

ACCPAC has announced that one of its Simply Accounting resellers, Astech, has implemented Simply Accounting Pro at Maid in SA, a local organisation that facilitates administration and management for employers of domestic workers.

Shahin Cassim, Director of Business Development at Maid in SA, says the company, which manages its clients' UIF payments and provides them with payslips and employee contracts, faced various issues that prompted the decision to go with Simply Accounting Pro.

"Maid in SA is a start-up venture; we needed the solution to be simplistic from a user perspective, without compromising on flexibility, features and scalability," he says.

"Simply Accounting Pro offered us these features and more."

Cassim says the company needed a solution that would enable it to hit the ground running and Simply Accounting allowed it to do so, from entering customer data to invoicing and managing its suppliers.

"The learning curve was short and we were surprised at the reporting levels available," he says. "Many small businesses often find inappropriate solutions that require a knowledge of accounting and this often creates what I term 'reduced opportunity focus', which involves spending time on non-core issues that distract management from business growth. The Simply Accounting Pro package was easy to use and we found no difficulty in learning how to handle it."

He adds that the company looked at several locally-developed solutions but Simply Accounting Pro topped them.

"The other important issues was flexibility and adaptation," he adds. "We needed to feel comfortable that when our business grew, our support solutions would be able to support this growth. The ability to migrate into the higher end ACCPAC solutions provides this for us."

Value for money was a concern. "ACCPAC offers a solution that can be easily integrated into existing solutions, proving to be very cost-effective, and Maid in SA plans to improve efficiency by integrating its client database (CRM), electronic fund transfers (EFT), and its Web-based client application and service facilities in the near-term," he says.

"We already use products such as Contact Master (Simply Accounting's customer relationship management product) and will be investigating EFT possibilities for SA as well as payroll features as we expand."
