MailArchiva, provider of open source architecture, has revealed its enterprise edition is now available on Sun Microsystem's OpenSolaris operating system.
Jamie Band, CEO and founder of MailArchiva, says: “Validating MailArchiva on the OpenSolaris platform means customers have a new, cost-effective alternative to meet their archiving requirements.”
The OpenSolaris open source project was created by Sun Microsystems in 2005 to build a developer community around the Solaris operating system. It is aimed at developers, system administrators and users who want to develop and improve operating systems.
MailArchiva's e-mail archiving system is designed to provide regulatory compliance to mail server performance and data accessibility. The company provides storage and retrieval solutions for e-mail.
Juan Carlos Soto, VP of global market development and engineering at Sun Microsystems, says: “MailArchiva's commercial open source enterprise edition enables organisations to take their investment in Sun technology a step further and satisfy their e-mail archiving requirements.”
