VortexBox developers release media server
The VortexBox developers have released version 1.5 of its Fedora-based media server, says The H.
VortexBox is designed to be a quick to install operating system, which once installed on an unused computer, it turns it into a media server or jukebox, which can automatically rip CDs, adding artwork, titles and tags as needed.
The new version fixes problems with iTunes 10 which broke June's release of VortexBox 1.4. The developers took the opportunity to replace the server entirely, and the replacement is now able to serve Flac files to iTunes by encoding them as Wav files on-the-fly.
