Malaysian green master plan in final stage
Minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin, who revealed this, said once implemented, it is expected to produce a huge impact.
He said several energy efficiency initiatives have been identified and outlined under this master plan, which will cover the industrial, building, commercial and domestic sectors.
The master plan has also been evaluated by energy efficiency experts from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation who have given positive views on it, he said, confident that with this master plan, the use of energy in the country will be more efficient.
According to The Star, Chin said the programme was among the initiatives undertaken as part of the National Key Economic Area through Entry Point Project 9.
He said the implementation was possible with the energy commissions rating system of one to five stars for electric appliances in the country.
Currently, the rating is available for selected appliances including refrigerators, air conditioners, television sets and fans.
