Value-added distributor Networks Unlimited is delighted to announce that its Kenyan employee, Brian Mangoli, has faultlessly passed Fortinet's Network Security Expert (NSE 4) certification, boasting a 100 percent score in the end exam.

The certification by Fortinet, a leading provider of fast and secure cyber security solutions, is designed to enable participants to greatly expand upon their knowledge and expertise of Fortinet's expansive network security portfolio and to better prepare them to enter untapped markets, whilst giving them the ability to provide higher levels of support to their customers.

"Brian's flawless execution of the NSE 4 exam is a boost for customers in the East African region, offering them an exceptional resource with both the technical knowledge and capability to design and implement Fortigate solutions," says Anton Jacobsz, managing director at Networks Unlimited.

According to a Cyber Security Report by a Cyber Threat Intelligence Team, the public sector in Kenya lost more than Sh5 billion from cybercrime attacks, followed by the financial services sector at Sh4 billion in 2015.

"This shows not only that cybercrime is very active in the region, but also that education around this scourge is critical, as is the need for IT security within organisations, regardless of sector. No matter how small or large your business, security should be top of mind for CIOs and IT managers," continues Mangoli. "Fortinet has a security fabric infrastructure that helps to enable organisations scale their security enforcements from the end-point level to the cloud level."

Describing himself as a "people person" who is ready to face challenges, Mangoli, an engineer, believes in "vision and action".

"My immediate objective is to ensure that Network Unlimited's partners are equipped to compete effectively, and to provide the Fortinet solutions to businesses and consumers in the East African region. This can be done through developing quality plans within the partner businesses and working with key executives in the region."

"Given the growing interest in cybercrime and, as a result, the growing global hacking and cybercriminal community, my role at Networks Unlimited is important - as the brand is not only passionate about raising awareness on security issues among businesses and consumers of cybercrime realities, but also on the necessary protection around this serious issue and, of course, supplying solutions that can offer these defensive measures in this region," concludes Mangoli.
