Manukau libraries embrace self-service

During December community libraries in Manukau, New Zealand, recorded a huge increase in books self-issued by customers, reports Stuff.

In the suburb of Pakuranga, library users issued 86% of books on self-issue machines and senior librarian Sponenka Sevic says people of all ages are using the .

She adds that people can also check information on the machines, such as personal account details.

DCS, Postilion partner

Dynamic Card Solutions (DCS), an instant card issuance, PIN selection and PIN change provider, and Postilion, provider of solutions for self-service and payments, have entered into partnership, states Finextra.

The companies will offer financial institutions with an integrated solution for card management, instant issuance, and PIN selection, by connecting DCS's patented CardWizard solutions with Postilion for Card Issuers.

Instant card issuance provides banks with improved service for new account-holders and allows for the immediate replacement of lost or stolen cards for current customers.

NCR, FINO find solution

NCR, a provider of self-service technologies, released a white paper on financial inclusion, titled 'Bringing Financial Services to the Masses', written by Frost & Sullivan, says Moneycontrol.com.

The white paper identifies self-service as the foremost scalable and sustainable solution to help overcome the barriers to financial inclusion.

To address the issues identified in the research paper, NCR has partnered with Financial Information Network & Operations (FINO), to introduce the FINO & NCR EasyPoint 70 Tijori. The micro deposit solution, with smart card and biometrics technology, will enable banks and micro finance institutions to scale their services and reach more people across India who do not currently make use of banking services.
