Dimension Data KZN provides Microsoft enterprise project management solution for retail group Massdiscounters
Massdiscounters, the retail group operating a nationwide chain of Game and Dion retail stores, has selected Dimension Data KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) to implement a group-wide Microsoft enterprise project management system. Dimension Data partnered with Fulcrum Business Solutions, a project management solutions specialist, to facilitate the deployment.
Massdiscounters required a consolidated view of all its projects and the status of resource utilisation and requirements across multiple teams. It also needed to ascertain the capacity of the various project teams. A centralised project management approach was therefore required to manage projects more effectively.
"We required a single view of resource allocation and utilisation across multiple projects and resource pools. The solution enables us to better plan and track projects and to be more responsive to the requirements of the business," says Chad McAlister, IT Operations manager at Massdiscounters.
The project management solution allows for a holistic view of different projects, which improves efficiencies and enables better decision-making. "Electing to standardise through a common project management methodology allows for professional and streamlined project delivery. It also assists in the planning and monitoring of project schedules, resources and costing," says Peter Pinnock, pre-sales consultant in Dimension Data KZN`s applications and integration division.
The solution will enable Massdiscounters to manage projects more effectively, make informed decisions, optimise resource allocations and ultimately maintain a sustained competitive advantage.
