Maxtec, FalconStor to demonstrate that FalconStor will lower storage costs

By Maxtec

JSE-listed specialist storage provider Maxtec Limited and US-based FalconStor, Inc, a network storage software company, has initiated a software-only solution for the South African market that can minimise the IT investment cost to users while maximising flexibility and adaptability of existing infrastructures.

The solution, which will be officially launched by Maxtec from 23 to 25 May in Johannesburg and Cape Town, is not only going to redefine storage networking, but also enhance the offerings of many connectivity hardware and storage services of vendors.

Solution providers have focused either on hardware-based connectivity or software storage services solutions. The solution will provide both and serve as a unifying force that allows users to maximise the strengths of both IP and Fibre Channel connectivity. This will allow SAN/NAS access to deliver a full array of storage services, such as storage virtualisation, high-availability, mirroring, replication, snapshot, zero-impact server-less backup and restore facilitation. Companies can benefit from these added functionalities, leveraging existing IT infrastructures.

IPStor is a pure software product that makes it easier to integrate the solution within an existing IT infrastructure. Its future-proof architecture ensures compatibility with the upcoming iSCSI and Infiniband standards.

A well-developed SAN will increase performance and reliability of enterprise storage solutions and significantly reduce total cost of ownership. The utilisation of an IPStor can manage a storage solution without any complexities and will allow organisations to facilitate many of their storage needs.

For an opportunity to appraise the solution`s inherent efficiency, features and financial savings, please contact Carey Linnell at Maxtec on (011) 803-6635 before 21 May for further enquiries/RSVPs.
