JSE-listed data storage company Maxtec has launched a new company, Enterprise Storage Solutions (ESS), which specialises in storage solutions consultancy services.
Maxtec expects the new company to contribute strongly to revenue from the outset.
Maxtec CEO George Talbot says the decision to launch the company and increase the scope of the existing solutions business was because the increasing complexity of technology means clients need experts who can service their storage system requirements.
"This trend gives us reason for the excitement and optimism about Maxtec`s opportunities for even greater success in the future," he adds.
Talbot says ESS supplies solutions that are completely vendor and platform independent.
The company aims to maximise client opportunities within the Maxtec group and manage change and growth by providing a storage interface "with unmatched connectivity" to all major computing platforms and applications.
ESS director Eric McKechnie says ESS "will endeavour to bring the cost of ownership of storage solutions down".
"We will improve our customers` operational efficiency by developing strategic business solutions to contain cost, complexity and redundancy of the storage solution, without sacrificing the ability to support the changing business cycles of our clients."
The company says there is enormous potential in the market.
"We intend to expand our customer base across all industries, while drawing from the resources within the Maxtec group," says technical advisor Gareth Donald.
