MB Technologies is taking a majority stake in Cloud On Demand for an undisclosed amount.

The deal, announced yesterday, follows MB Technologies' successful buyout of SecureData for R85 million in a move that saw the company delisted from the JSE.

Cloud On Demand notes that MB Technologies' subsidiary, Tarsus Technologies, previously entered into a agreement with Cloud On Demand.

The purchase of the majority stake by MB Technologies shows its "commitment to offer services to its channel beyond the traditional business lines of IT hardware distribution", notes a statement.

"We are delighted with being part of the MB Technologies Group. This now gives us access to greater financial and back-office resources.

"It will allow us to build the scale we envision to deliver cost-effective, public and hybrid cloud services to the IT channel that exists within the group and particularly in the SecureData and Tarsus Technologies businesses," says Cloud On Demand CEO Jonathan Kropf.

Cloud On Demand has already moved into MB Technologies' new office and warehouse facilities and is "well on its way" to being integrated in the group, it says.
