McAfee boosts risk management solution

Doug Cooke, McAfee sales and engineering director, explains that the enhancements aim to better inform business executives around the company's risk.

“We're gathering all this information, and one of the things we can do with our Risk Advisor product, is take all that information and then summarise it for the more senior people,” says Cooke.

He claims it can cut down on costs and wasted time by allowing high-level executives to be presented with the company's full 'security posture'.

Gamut News states that McAfee Risk Advisor enables organisations to proactively analyse how changes to their business environment impact their risk and security profile.

The solution has automated application awareness, which allows security managers to associate risk, threat and security vulnerability information with underlying business applications.

“Security and risk management now has C-level visibility within the business, and internal and external stakeholders are holding IT departments accountable for managing risk,” says Stuart McClure, McAfee senior VP and GM of risk and compliance.

MarketWatch says organisations are challenged with effectively managing security and risk programs, as these software programs often provide limited functionality and automation, and lack integration to key business assets.
