Mecer Computers, SA`s top selling PC brand, will expand its product offering in SA in May 2005 by launching a range of products incorporating AMD processing technology.
AMD64 technology is the next step in the evolution of computing, extending original PC architecture to a new level of computing performance and capability. AMD64 technology improves performance for many applications by evolving industry-standard technology from 32-bit to 64-bit architecture. 64-bit computing allows operating systems and software to process more data and access a tremendous amount of memory.
The AMD Opteron and AMD Athlon 64 processor ranges are compatible with today`s hardware and software.
The new range of Mecer products incorporating AMD64 technology will comprise:
* Servers with AMD Opteron processors.
* Desktops with AMD Athlon 64 processors.
* Notebooks with AMD Athlon 64 processors.
