Mediaset unveils 3DTV on DTT
In what may prove a breakthrough not only in the country but also beyond, Italy's largest private audio-visual group Mediaset has unveiled a 3DTV service over digital terrestrial television(DTT), reports Raid TV News.
The new service is one of the first examples of 3DTV tests on a terrestrial TV network in the world and joins Spanish regional broadcaster TV3 who has already done the same.
Mediaset's 3DTV service is called '3VOD' and it consists of an offering of around 50 films that users can download onto the hard discs of set-top-boxes.
Arlington Ballpark goes HD
It may not be 60 yards long, but the Ballpark in Arlington is going HD, according to NBC.
The old video board that has rested atop Home Run Porch since the park opened in 1994 is being replaced with a fancier, more modern version. In addition to that change, the team is making a series of significant improvements in the video technology and audio systems in use throughout the park.
"The club is partnering with Daktronics and the Sony to deliver high-definition digital content throughout the ballpark in a number of different formats. The upgrades will dramatically enhance the in-park experience for Rangers fans with high quality video, technology, and audio and additional information," the team said in a news release.
CBS installs audio mixing console
CBS Television City has installed an Apollo audio mixing console with Bluefin2 signal-processing technology from Calrec Audio to handle audio elements for some of its TV shows and will soon add a second to handle the busy workload, notes Broadcast Engineering.
Working with Bexel Broadcast Services, the Television City facility in Los Angeles purchased and installed one Calrec Apollo desk last August, and company executives said the second would soon follow.
The Calrec Apollo audio console offers an integrated 8192 by 8192 router and 1020 channels of digital signal processing. Other key Calrec Apollo features include redundant power supplies and independently operable surface tiles.
