MegaPath adds remote access
MegaPath has announced the availability of the MegaPath Business Continuity SSL service, according to PRWeb.
It provides workers with secure remote access to the enterprise network and information systems in the event of a business disruption, such as a power outage, natural disaster or other unforeseen incident.
MegaPath`s Business Continuity SSL delivers enough capacity to handle instantaneous peak usage, so employees and other network users can gain access to business-critical applications from any Internet-connected device, anywhere in the world.
Bosses warned about business continuity
Directors of enterprises have been warned that they face accusations of failing to do their duty if companies are found to be doing too little when it comes to business continuity and disaster recovery, reports OneStopClick.
SunGard Availability Services said in its 'From Adversity to Availability` report that while there were many risks of disasters, there were also opportunities for those businesses to stay operational in such situations.
Keith Tilley, SunGard`s UK MD, commented that leading companies had used such considerations to develop ways of "harnessing business continuity practices alongside disaster recovery and zero downtime infrastructures to help the entire organisation become more resilient".
IBM makes online storage move
IBM is the latest storage vendor to make a serious online storage play with its plans to acquire Arsenal Digital Solutions, reports Channel Web.
Arsenal Digital, which delivers scalable, online on-demand data protection services, will become part of the Business Continuity and Resiliency Services business unit of IBM Global Technology Services.
Financial details of the acquisition, which is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008, were not revealed.
