Memtek launches validated Rambus RIMM modules

Memtek Component Distribution sole distributor of Memory Card Technology (MCT) one of their principle suppliers has made validated Rambus RIMM modules for distribution. The modules have passed RIMM specification validation testing as established by Intel and Rambus Inc. The Rambus RIMM modules are available in densities of 72MB, 108MB and 144MB.

Together with the Intel 820 and 840 chipsets, the Rambus RIMM modules form a platform, which is specifically designed to meet the needs of high performance, single and multiprocessor desktop PCs and workstations. The Intel 820/RDRAM platform allows a peak bandwidth of 1.6GB/sec, while the 840/RDRAM platform has a peak bandwidth of no less than 3.2GB/sec. These platforms enable new levels of perforation, scalability and end-user productivity.

The validated RIMM modules will be among the new products, which will be given special attention by MCT at CeBIT 2000 from the 24th of February to the 1st March 2000.
