Memtek-MMW has been named by Siltek Distribution Dynamics (SDD), the focused IT company in the Siltek Technology Supply Chain Group, as sub-distributor of its Epson printer product range.
According to Shane Tyrrell, business unit manager: Epson and Apple at SDD, although SDD is geared to dealing with the larger Tier 1 and 2 resellers, they do not generally work together with the smaller Tier 3 and 4 resellers.
"The main reason for this is that we have found smaller resellers prefer not to purchase the branded systems offered by SDD, but rather buy the separate components and build their own.
"Our selection of Memtek-MMW as an Epson sub-distributor is basically a natural progression. Since the core business of Memtek-MMW is the sale of system components and peripherals, they are a natural choice for Tier3 and 4 dealers to approach for the purchase of printers," Tyrrell explains.
David Sharples, product manager at Memtek-MMW, says that Memtek-MMW has been seconded by SDD because they have the necessary channel connections and expertise to take on this sector of Epson printer sales.
"The market for these printers is currently positive, but we are hoping that attention to the printers will spark off interest in other Epson products such as their digital cameras," says Sharples.
SDD will continue to deal with Tier 1 and 2 sales for these products.
