META Group`s METAmorphosis 2003 is reported to be heading for record attendance levels as the local IT industry increasingly realises the value of the event.
Peter Riches, MD of META Group South Africa, says the group has run local METAmorphosis conferences since the company launched in SA in 1992, but each year has seen developments in response to what clients need.
"This year we have noted the growing trend for business to demand maximum value from their IT spend. With this in mind, we will present talks, break-out sessions and one-on-one discussions on IT portfolio management to enable companies to get maximum return on their IT investment."
META Group says that while many companies have leveraged portfolio management to prioritise projects and reduce costs, there is still a great deal more to IT portfolio management. Applying portfolio management to all integration options, including partners, business processes and technology, will provide real costs savings and return on investment.
METAmorphosis South Africa 2003 aims to help companies leverage their IT portfolio management approach to cost-effectively deliver an integrated portfolio, manage risk, sustain innovation and drive value.

METAmorphosis has been running around the world in areas such as Europe, the US, Sydney and Israel. Our clients are saying the event is better than ever before and offers real value," says Riches.
"In SA, we have defined what our local client base is interested in, and have blended top international speakers with local strategic advisers to combine local presence with a global view."
Showcasing its METAspectrum market evaluations and detailed client case studies, the 14th annual forum will be staged at Caesars Gauteng from 27 to 29 May.
