Metastorm, a leading provider of business process management (BPM) software for automating, managing and controlling processes and distributed in SA by Software Futures, today announced that The Presidency in SA has selected Metastorm e-Work to automate and streamline internal processes for handling and tracking correspondence and to automate its recruitment processes.
The Presidency deals with the flow of all information from citizens, government departments, businesses and other non-governmental organisations, to the executive office of the President and the Deputy President. Traditionally, all correspondence has been tracked and forwarded to the appropriate department manually. The diverse nature of the incoming letters and e-mails has led to challenges in providing responses in an appropriate timeframe, maintaining an adequate level of customer satisfaction and delivering the high standard expected from the highest office of government.
The new system will be implemented to 350 users so that correspondence for the entire organisation can be recorded, tracked and responded to in a suitable timeframe. The system will be delivered by IA Systems, one of Metastorm's partners in SA working in partnership with SITA (State Information Technology Agency). The solution will also integrate with its existing content management system, Hummingbird.
Maria Farelo, Project Manager at The Presidency, said: "We selected IA systems to deliver a BPM solution from Metastorm because of the rich functionality it provides. e-Work will give the Office of the Presidency the flexibility it needs to deliver e-government initiatives, and by using this technology to streamline government business processes, we will be setting the standard for e-government in SA."
"We are delighted to work with The Presidency on its BPM solution. e-Work is ideally suited to government bodies because it has a record of delivering impressive ROI, a short implementation cycle and can provide an organisation which is under such intense scrutiny with a way to analyse and control the standard of its work," says Daniel Hall, Director at IA Systems.
Neil Berry, country manager for SA at Metastorm, said: "Metastorm is very proud to list the South African office of the President among its customers. Having such a high profile customer in SA validates our investment in this fast-growing market. We look forward to working with The Presidency to help it achieve increased customer satisfaction and maintain its high standards."
