Metrofile Holdings has appointed Paul Nkuna to its board as a non-executive director.
Nkuna, CEO of Mineworkers Investment Company (MIC), has been appointed with immediate effect, the firm told shareholders yesterday.
MIC is one of SA's "pre-eminent empowerment firms, whose beneficiary base comprises the families of hundreds of thousands of black mineworkers," said Metrofile.
MIC recently won the Business Report Award for the leading unlisted black economic empowerment group in SA.
Nkuna is also a director of a number of unlisted and listed companies, including FirstRand Bank and Primedia, of which he is non-executive chairman.
He "is passionate about transformation, with emphasis on broad-based empowerment, ownership, affirmative procurement, employment equity, skills development, and transfer and promotion of SMEs," said the firm.
Metrofile has also appointed Richard Buttle as CFO, with immediate effect.
Buttle joined the Metrofile group in 1996, having completed his articles and after a one-year contract performing a forensic audit. His work experience includes several roles, including holding positions of financial manager and financial director.
Buttle has been CFO of Metrofile's subsidiary, Metrofile Limited, since January 2003, and is a director of all the subsidiaries of Metrofile Holdings.
