MGX Storage Solutions, a division of MGX Holdings, has named local distributor, Memtek-MMW as a value-added reseller of its entry-level automated tape library product offering.
Lance Olver, indirect sales manager of MGX Storage Solutions, explains that Traditionally, MGX operated within the mid-range/enterprise arena, distributing StorageTek`s range of data storage products. "With the release of StorageTek`s L20 entry-level automated tape library, we are now able to address the market with an enhanced product offering, from entry-level to enterprise."
"We see a tremendous amount of value in partnering with Memtek-MMW. Their considerable knowledge and expertise in the channel will assist both parties in making significant gains into the `commodity` market space."
Lawrence Polkinghorne, sales manager: storage at Memtek-MMW, agrees: "The partnership is beneficial and strategic for both Memtek-MMW and MGX, catapulting the StorageTek brand into the workgroup/departmental environment, where they previously had limited presence and strengthening Memtek-MMW`s presence in the market as a storage player."
Polkinghorne believes that the appointment enhances the recently launched Memtek-MMW storage division`s stature. "The new product also brings greater variety to our solution-oriented range of offerings."
