MGX Holdings has organised its operating units into five business domains to reflect the areas in which it aims to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Aletha Ling, MGX group strategy and business development CEO, says MGX`s vision starts with customer-centricity, meaning that what MGX does must have value.
The group must be a globally relevant new economy company recognised for innovation and delivering important measurable business outcomes, she adds.
She says industry has moved through many cycles, and at the moment is in the cycle of finding business value, which touches directly on IT.
"MGX has for the longest time built its business proposition on delivering the information advantage."
She adds that it is a company`s data that makes it unique, and MGX`s value proposition centres on managing data.
The company agrees on measurable business outcomes with its customers, and this is shaped around four key value propositions - improving enterprise performance, reducing and containing costs to improve profitability, managing and thus minimising risk, and finding the business leverage.
Ling says MGX`s core strategy revolves around its five business domains: storage management, business availability management, software development, content management and enterprise value management.
Storage is becoming central to infrastructure strategy, and it is predicted that storage costs will exceed other infrastructure spend in IT.
Gartner also predicts strong growth in the business availability management area, which involves making certain that systems are available to ensure business availability.
Ling says content management, which involves management of and access to key business content (both physical document and records management as well as digital content management) is a key area, since many call centre projects fail because the information they may need is stored in an inaccessible file somewhere.
Enterprise value management involves integrating enterprises inside and out - empowering staff and connecting to buyers, suppliers and marketplaces.
