MGX reshuffles its board

Johannesburg, 02 Feb 2004

MGX has announced several board changes at group level and at subsidiary Metrofile, soon to be its only operation once a restructuring programme has been completed.

The group said in November that it was restructuring its debt and its operations and planned to delist from the JSE.

Once the operational restructuring is complete, MGX will be left with only its Metrofile subsidiary and the group will be renamed accordingly.

Norman Webster is to retire as Metrofile CEO on 1 March. He will continue as an executive director at Metrofile until 30 June, after which he will remain on Metrofile`s board in a non-executive capacity. He will also resign as an MGX director with effect from 30 June.

Other changes include the appointment of Metrofile Gauteng MD Graham Wackrill as Metrofile CEO. He will become an MGX director on 30 June. Anthony Ball has resigned as a non-executive director and his alternate, Eduardo Garcia, has been appointed a non-executive director.

MGX`s non-executive chairman, Chris Seabrooke, will also be non-executive chairman of Metrofile from 1 March.

The group says it will reconstitute its board committees to continue to comply with the JSE listings requirements and the recommendations of the King II report.
