Microsoft EPM solution manager joins Fulcrum Business Solutions

Johannesburg, 20 Jun 2006

Scott Beattie has left the employ of Microsoft SA and joined South Africa`s leading enterprise project management service provider, Fulcrum Business Solutions.

Beattie, Microsoft EPM solution manager, says: "It comes as a natural move at a time when the South African and international markets are reaching the `tipping point` at which organisations are relying more and more on expert project and portfolio management tools and services that they can use to manage project execution and control strategic delivery."

With the news of Microsoft`s acquisition of UMT`s Portfolio Management software last year and the recent joint venture between Fulcrum and UMT (UMT South Africa), South African companies are now in a position to implement a complete integrated solution that ensures strategic delivery of their initiatives and projects.

"Organisations are looking for better ways to compete, innovate and reduce cost and I believe Fulcrum is in the best position to add true benefit to companies by helping them to manage and improve strategic delivery," he says. "Fulcrum has already implemented the majority of Microsoft`s EPM solutions in South Africa and is ready to expand their best practice offerings with the next generation project and portfolio solutions from Microsoft."

"Microsoft`s Portfolio Server 2007 will bridge the gap between strategy and delivery. Companies will be able to optimise their investments and make better-informed decisions through good prioritisation and measuring against a common currency of strategic value," says Beattie.

"Once companies have chosen the right projects they can then use Microsoft`s enterprise project management solution to effectively manage their execution across the organisation. The new 2007 release of Microsoft Project and Project server at the end of this year is going allow companies to do this faster and easier."

Making the move to Fulcrum was a simple decision for Beattie. He notes: "The company`s consulting approach is professional, its training excellent and its EPM knowledge is unsurpassed.

"I wanted to play a pivotal role in a company that is adding tremendous value to their customers in a market that is seeing rapid growth in project and portfolio management," he adds. "I`m excited to join a winning team that is passionate and driven about their customers."
