Windows World will give the business visitor more insight into the world of electronic business. Forming part of Computer Faire 2000, Windows World is Microsoft`s exhibition concept, where Microsoft`s partners and other IT leaders will be exhibiting the solutions built on the Windows platform.
Focusing on electronic business solutions, Microsoft exhibition partners Idion.BSG and IcomXpress (formally Keyfile Corp.) will be doing just that - showcasing the latest business-to-business electronic commerce applications.
"Small and medium enterprises are starting to realise the benefits that electronic commerce has to offer," says Mark Hill, managing director at Microsoft Southern Africa. "These benefits include lower costs, greater reach and faster response times. Demonstrating how these benefits can be achieved through technology at this year`s Windows World at Computer Faire, will continue to nurture the confidence needed to make e-business work in the new economy."
Idion.BSG will be displaying a number of comprehensive offerings including software products and tailored solutions. "Our Internet Commerce Express (IcomXpress) offering, which delivers a comprehensive and scalable electronic commerce solution, will enable visitors to the Faire to see how a company can develop fully functional business-to-business applications in a fraction of the time required by other systems," says Andrew Bennett Sales Manager at Idion.BSG.
"One by-product of the Internet revolution is the increase in competitive pressure that is being felt by organisations of all types. Both private and public sector businesses are being forced to re-evaluate their core operations as the need to engage in electronic commerce drives the adoption of new technologies and business processes," adds Bennett.
"Major organisations and industry groups are actively developing standards for business-to-business commerce in a number of markets. The forces driving the implementation of e-business solutions are drastically improved customer service, the meeting of organisational and external requirements, improved efficiency, increased profits and quicker response time to market," says Hill.
Computer Faire will take place at Gallagher Estate from 24 until 27 May 2000. The Windows World pavilion will be located in Hall 3, where various Microsoft partners will be demonstrating solutions based on the Windows platform.
