Microsoft selects SmartForce

SmartForce (formerly CBT Systems) has been selected by Microsoft Corp to provide an online continuing e-learning solution for more than 600 000 Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs) worldwide.

Through this new relationship, SmartForce will offer a dedicated e-learning Web site exclusively for MCPs. The solution includes online access to Microsoft-approved courseware, 24x7 online mentoring by SmartMentors who are Microsoft certified, as well as numerous online learning resources geared to help MCPs deploy e-commerce, knowledge management, and Windows 2000-based solutions.

Milton Goldschmidt, SmartForce Africa MD, says MCPs can register for courses by logging on to the MCP secure site at http://partnering.one.microsoft.com/mcp.

"In addition to the secure site for the MCP community, SmartForce offers e-learning solutions to help aspiring MCPs become certified and to stay on top of new Microsoft products and emerging technologies," says Goldschmidt.

"This latest collaboration between SmartForce and Microsoft introduces a large and influential new community to the benefits of SmartForce e-Learning," he adds.

"Employers have long recognised the value of the MCP programme and the importance of retaining individuals who are Microsoft technology experts."

At the launch of the initiative, Donna Senko, director of certification and skills assessment at Microsoft said: "It`s critical for IT professionals to stay current on the technologies they use day-to-day and be prepared for new products and technologies.

"SmartForce` secure Web site provides Microsoft Certified Professional`s with access to Microsoft training and resources at all hours, every day to help them succeed in their jobs."

In addition to the secure site for the MCP community, SmartForce offers e-Learning solutions to help aspiring MCPs become certified at http://www.SmartForce.com.

SmartForce`s MCP e-Learning site will offer the following:

  • Free and discounted online courseware on Microsoft and related technologies.

  • 24x7 access to online mentoring.

  • Technical documentation and other rich knowledge .
