Technology giant Microsoft has announced an alliance with UGS, global provider of product life-cycle management and services, to deliver the full suite of UGS software solutions on the Microsoft platform.

"The full solution empowers manufacturers with the ability to create and all their product in an easy to use and security-enhanced environment, while allowing global team members, customers, industry partners and vendors to participate in the creative process," writes Manufacturing Business Technology.

"UGS`s technology offers a uniquely powerful set of tools to help employees and external creative teams collaborate on innovative products that meet the demands of their customers," says Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

InSync secures $7.5m for RFID plans

InSync Software, a Silicon Valley-based provider of collaborative supply chain software applications that track assets on the move, today announced it has completed a Series A funding round of $7.5 million.

Rustic Canyon Partners and Intel Capital are the lead investors with additional capital coming from several strategic investors, notes AmericanVentureMagazine.

The investment will accelerate growth for InSync`s Collaborative Supply Chain and RFID "Asset-on-the-Move" software solutions, adds the article.

InSync`s customers include Fortune 500 technology companies in the semiconductor, electronics and computer industries.
