The Saudi Electricity Company, Central Operating Area (SEC - COA), has selected Protek`s nexoss Unified OSS solution to enable increased service reliability of its telecommunications network and reduce the cost of maintenance service.
This class-leading network management and real-time inventory solution will enable SEC-COA to determine the exact geographic location of a particular potential network fault before it occurs, and, critically, before it affects the services delivery to its customers. This will help SEC to respond to faults according to their SLA (service level agreements) value, as well as reducing maintenance costs and repair time. SEC-COA, formerly SCECO, is a tier-one electricity company in Saudi Arabia, which has its own telecommunications network.
In order to gain a centralised view of its network, SEC-COA needed to integrate several multi-vendor element network management systems. The Protek nexoss Unified OSS solution will provide SEC with a seamless and integrated management solution including fault management, performance management and configuration management solutions. It will also deliver the ability to look at any part of the network from a single point, making it much easier to identify problems as soon as they occur.
Protek is partnering with ABB Saudi Arabia for this project. Mohammad Al-Faraydhi, Utility Automation Business Area Manager for ABB Saudi Arabia, said: "Protek`s solution appealed to SEC because of its rich functionality, and specifically because it will enable it to manage its network more cost-effectively."
"Protek`s nexoss technology combined with our expertise in implementations enable companies like SEC to actively reduce the cost of managing a complex network and deliver a very rapid return on investment as well as improving services for its key customers," commented Michael White, Protek`s General Manager for Europe and the Middle East.
