Mimecast and Dimension Data today revealed a technology partnership that enables the IT services and solutions provider to offer its client base the full suite of Mimecast's cloud-based e-mail management services.
Mimecast says it has a single, unified hosted service that assists companies with the continuity, archiving and compliance challenges facing companies running Microsoft Exchange.
“It removes the need for businesses to deploy and manage multiple third-party systems by providing robust, always-on e-mail in the cloud,” the company says.
Garth Wittles, managing director of Mimecast SA, believes that Mimecast complements Dimension Data's strategy of delivering more essential cloud services to its clients, especially those running Microsoft environments.
“A recent survey conducted by Mimecast revealed that 77% of the respondents are planning to move to Exchange 2010,” says Wittles.
“That means we can expect at least three quarters of Dimension Data's current Microsoft Exchange client base to eventually migrate.
“This also means Mimecast is a particular advantage for both Dimension Data and its client base as we make this process simple by providing archiving prior to the migration, 100% business continuity during move, and the ability to access all the benefits of Exchange 2010 without having to invest in additional infrastructure.”
According toBradley Bunch, general manager of Microsoft Solutions at Dimension Data: “We have an obligation to our clients to ensure that our technology partners provide innovative, robust solutions with a proven track record.
“This means ensuring they have sustainable business practices, excellent technology skills and a performance history of solid implementations that goes back years. With almost a decade in the market and more than 1.2 million mailboxes on the service in South Africa alone, Mimecast demonstrated itself to be an excellent partner.”
Wittles adds: “This is a very significant partnership for us. Dimension Data is an ideal partner in terms of its technology skills, business culture and penetration of the Microsoft Exchange market.
“The addition of Dimension Data to our network will support us in expanding our footprint, as it has the reach, logistics capabilities and Microsoft skills to bring Mimecast to its entire base of clients.”
For clients, Mimecast notes, one of the most appealing features will always be the ease and confidence with which it can be applied.
“The benefits Mimecast brings to customers in terms of reducing the risk and complexity is obvious. We are all looking forward to bringing this service into our client base,” concludes Bunch.
