Mimecast has been positioned by leading independent industry analyst firm Gartner in the 'Leaders' section of the October 2015 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Information Archiving. The report provides a detailed overview of the enterprise information archiving market and evaluates vendors based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute.
Mimecast has been positioned as highest on 'ability to execute' in the 'Leaders' quadrant.
Neil Murray, chief technology officer at Mimecast, commented: "We have invested considerable time and effort into leading the industry in e-mail and data archiving technology, and doing this completely in the cloud. Unlike many of our on-premises or hosted archiving competitors, we designed and built a cloud service able to scale to meet the storage and protection requirements of customers of all sizes. We also allow our customers to combine their archiving, e-mail security and continuity requirements into one, fully-integrated cloud service."
Mimecast offers a search SLA of seven seconds - ensuring desktop and mobile users can quickly find business-critical information when they need it.
Gartner also pointed to a marked move toward the cloud, stating: "Archiving as a service (aka cloud archiving) has rapidly surpassed on-premises archiving as the preferred deployment model for most organisations. Gartner sees 60% to 70% of new replacement e-mail archiving implementations as being cloud-based."
