Development house eBAM Systems has implemented an online store front solution for MINI (BMW Group, SA), using Intershop`s store front solution Intershop4.
The MINI online shop, www.minishop.co.za, sells a variety of cool, funky MINI merchandise. Shoppers can either collect their purchases from the closest dealer or request delivery within two working days.
Intershop 4 supports common business models, is applicable to various types of business and optionally offers expanded functionality and connectivity through its modular design. The solution allows for a very quick development time frame, as the software has a pre-developed base line storefront from which to customise, with minimum investment.
Internationally, BMW has used Intershop technology for a range of e-commerce solutions, including Intershop Enfinity B2C Solution as the foundation for multiple e-commerce initiatives undertaken by the BMW Group. The new initiatives have been modelled on the group`s successful "MINI Mart" (www.mini-shop.com).
These international and global e-commerce initiatives enable BMW and its subsidiaries to streamline the sale of accessories and merchandise to customers. The BMW Group is leveraging the critically acclaimed Intershop Enfinity e-commerce platform to implement e-commerce projects for several different brands and divisions. In addition to the existing MINI Mart, roll-outs are planned throughout the year for the BMW Lifestyle Shop, the C1 Shop and the Rider`s Point. The MINI Mart supports English, German, French, Italian and Spanish customers.
