Minolta increases range of monochrome SOHO printers

Johannesburg, 27 Feb 2000

Minolta has announced the addition of the Minolta PagePro8L to its successful line of monochrome and colour laser printers, geared to offer SOHO, corporate and environments productivity-enhancing features normally associated with bigger, less affordable laser printers.

The compact laser printer boasts award-winning Adobe PrintGear technology which is the result of a partnership between Minolta and Adobe and combines Adobe`s expertise in applications and printing technology with Minolta`s proven competence in colour input and output devices.

The Adobe PrintGear is an innovative printer imaging architecture which combines host-based printing software and custom designed printer hardware. The result, as featured in Minolta`s PagePro8L, offers unprecedented performance, quality and ease-of-use.

PrintGear also provides web-ready printing by implementing a web-server in the printer to make it easy for workgroup users to manage LAN-based set up and printing without assistance from a network administrator.

Minolta laser printer product manager Marianna Gdanis says the PagePro8L gives SOHO users outstanding features in a compact size. "The PagePro8L will help you grow your business without the business outgrowing the printer," she says.

Other advantageous features of the PagePro 8L include its network capability and high paper volume of up to 650 pages. "The new PagePro8L will also please customers who are concerned about a printer`s aesthetic appearance and practical design and not just its ease of use and powerful functionality. The design is smooth and rounded, and the high-volume paper cassettes are protected from dust and humidity.

"Ever since Minolta began manufacturing its own-label printers, its standards have been very high. The launch of the new PrintGear technology raises the standards even further," says Gdanis.
