Minolta-QMS printers receive Microsoft certification

Johannesburg, 22 Aug 2001

The networking capabilities and various software application features of current office automation products such as printers, copiers and the like, continue to permeate the IT infrastructure.

Minolta-QMS recently announced that four of its printers, namely the Magicolor 6100 DeskLaser, Magicolor 2200 DeskLaser, PagePro 4110W, and PagePro 4100E, all received Microsoft certification.

This announcement comes just months after several other Minolta-QMS products - the 3260 Print System, 4032 Print System, Magicolor 2200 (Crown), and Magicolor 6100 (Crown) - all underwent stringent testing to meet Microsoft`s standards for compatibility with Windows 2000 Professional and Windows NT Workstation 4.0 operating systems.

According to Zarius Jordaan, product manager, Minolta-QMS colour and monochrome laser printers, Microsoft certification not only means that products will remain stable when run under the specified operating systems, but that complete component installation and/or removal is kept simple.

Further, installing and using any components will not cause the system to stop working or otherwise disrupt the Windows software running on the computer.
