MINOLTA-QMS, Inc. has announced that two of its economical PageProT printers have been named to PC World`s Top 10 Laser Printer chart. In the magazine`s January 2001 issue, the PagePro 1100L grabbed the number one spot and a "Best Buy" rating among small-business/home-office lasers, moving up a notch since last reviewed in September. In the Corporate Laser category, it was the PagePro 4100W that caught the eyes of the editors, ranking fifth among its competitors.
The printers shared three common features that PC World found highly appealing-price, speed, and print quality. In discussing the R 2650* PagePro 1100L, PC World noted that it was ".the lowest-priced model on the SOHO list, as well as the speediest at printing graphics. Text appears solid, sharp, and clean." With the PagePro 4100W it was a similar story. PC World editors summarised the R 6395-priced* printer as ".the least expensive on the corporate chart and produces graphics the fastest."

PagePro 1100 and PagePro 4100 Printer Series
The PagePro 1100 family consists of two printer models, the PagePro 1100L and the PagePro 1100. Both offer 10 page-per-minute print speeds, a parallel interface, and a 150-sheet standard input cassette. The PagePro 1100L offers 600 x 600 dpi resolution and is optimised for the Windows environment, capitalizing on the printing capabilities already contained in Windows 95/98, NT 4.0, and Windows 2000. The PagePro 1100 offers 1200 x 600 dpi, resident PCL 6 emulation, and an optional 10/100BaseT Ethernet interface with PageScopeT web-based printer utility to handle the robust demands of multi-user small office environments.
The PagePro 4100 series includes three models, the PagePro 4100W, 4100E, and 4100 GN. All models offer 18 ppm print speeds, a parallel interface, 250-sheet input cassette, and 1200 x 600 dpi resolution. The PagePro 4100W is designed for PC users, supporting Windows 95/98, NT 4.0 and Windows 2000. The PagePro 4100E offers a resident PCL 6 emulation and USB connectivity; while the PagePro 4100GN includes PCL 6 and Adobe PostScript 3, as well as a 10/100BaseT Ethernet interface.
