Misys International Banking Systems, one of the world`s leading suppliers of IT solutions to the banking and financial services industry, is pleased to announce a pan-African agency agreement signed with ebis. Ebis is currently the largest IBM midrange hardware and software distributor to IBM business partners operating in Sub-Saharan Africa.
"The relationship will allow Misys the opportunity to broaden their coverage within Africa via ebis` resellers channel, which focuses on the banking market segment and provides a cohesive marketing effort across hardware, middleware and software applications," says David Futter, Managing Director of ebis.
This agreement reinforces ebis` position as an "e-business infrastructure solutions" provider. Ebis recently changed its name from MDS (Midrange Distribution Services) to ebis (e-business infrastructure solutions) as the company has moved from being a value-added hardware distributor to a "solutions" driven value-added distributor. Ebis already has an established network of agents based in the 19 countries specified within the agreement, including Angola, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. This network of agents will provide even broader and deeper industry coverage within their individual markets, ensuring Misys, ebis and their local agents enjoy still greater success in the future.
Misys` superior set of products and services, which are available through the company`s Johannesburg office and agents, offer market-leading solutions for retail banking, corporate and private banking, trade finance, treasury and capital markets, e-banking and risk management.
In addition to the range of Misys` banking applications, ebis also supplies the IBM software range of products, namely Tivoli, DB2, WebSphere and Lotus, as well as IBM`s Midrange Unix and eServer iSeries processors, PC servers, Storage, Desktop and Mobile products.
