Mobile abuse to increase
New research by Cloudmark, a provider of carrier-grade messaging security, into mobile messaging abuse trends in Asia, North America and Europe point to a rise in mobile spam, phishing and virus attacks in 2008, reports Search by Headlines.
Cloudmark solutions protect more than 300 million in-boxes (including 100 million mobile accounts) for more than 100 of the world's largest mobile and fixed-line operators, including Sprint/Nextel, Earthlink, Comcast and Swisscom.
In the past year, Cloudmark has worked closely with leading mobile operators across the globe to help them address the growing issue of mobile spam and malware.
Vodafone selects Acision
Vodafone UK has commenced migrating its UK customers to Acision's next-generation IP voice messaging platform, says FOXBusiness.
The fully scalable open architecture will mean Vodafone customers will continue to enjoy easy-to-use, fast voicemail services.
As well as providing advanced voice messaging services, Acision's IP messaging platform is equipped to support complementary services.
Nortel chooses 724
Nortel has selected 724's Seamless Messaging solution to enable transparent messaging between enterprise and mobile networks for Nortel's leading fixed mobile convergence (FMC) enterprise solutions, according to Earthtimes.
The Seamless Messaging solution allows the enterprise to leverage their existing messaging system and extend out to their mobile workforce.
The messages are seamlessly routed to the device currently in use by the enterprise subscriber, in a format and context that allows them to be delivered into the standard clients available on those devices.
