The technologies that enable SMEs to stay connected and reduce overheads are vital to the existence of these organisations.
So says Deshan Govender, Think notebook product manager for Middle East and Africa.
Entrepreneurs who own and run SMEs tend to do business on the move. They rarely spend all day in an air-conditioned office with PAs at their beck and call; their cars are their offices, and their laptops, smartphones and tablets are their filing cabinets and drawing boards, he continues.
Technology that enables them to do all that, while keeping them connected and up to date, saves time and cuts down on overheads, Govender notes.
He is a speaker at the Lenovo Mobile SME executive forum, which takes place at the Southern Sun Grayston on 27 September.
Lenovo believes the entrepreneurs who run SMEs are “'Those Who Do', as per our logo,” Govender says. These people are proactive about turning their dreams into reality. To help them do that, they want technology that is reliable in all circumstances, is easy and intuitive to use, and has all the latest facilities and functionality packaged in stylish form factors - without costing an arm and a leg, he emphasises.
SMEs want ease of management of their technology. As a result, they insist on exceptional service and support. No fuss, no nonsense. Just effectiveness at every level, Govender continues.
The ITWeb, Lenovo, Intel SME mobile forum is free, and will show SMEs how to run at maximum capacity using mobile technology. It will also provide an in-depth look at mobile computing in SA, as well as at secure cloud computing. For more information about the event, click here.
